to purchase a marriage license from the county.

You may purchase a "San Diego marriage license"
in any county office in San Diego listed below

know that we work closely with a special notary who is
able to issue a marriage licenses by appointment..
saving you the trip and hassle of the courthouse.
Let us know as soon as possible if you need this service.
(There is an additional fee charged by the notary for this service)

You can also purchase your marriage license
in any California County office that sells licenses
and use it for a San Diego wedding or San Diego elopement.

Requirements for a San Diego Marriage License

Each person must appear in person and
present one form of valid photo identification
with proof of age.
To expedite the identification process,
it is recommended that both the bride and groom
bring a certified copy of their birth certificate.

You must be 18 years of age.
Or go through Juvenile Court prior to obtaining a license.
Their number is 858.694.4601 ,
they can give you the specific requirements
for couples under the age of 18.


If either party has been granted a divorce within 90 days of applying for a new marriage license,
a copy of the final divorce decree must be
presented at the time of issue.

A blood test is NOT required.

Your marriage license is effective immediately and
valid for 90 days anywhere within the state of California.
You will need one adult witness for your ceremony.

A Certified copy of your
San Diego Marriage License
may be purchased
through the county clerks office
about two weeks AFTER the license is filed by us
The cost is $14.
EFFECTIVE JAN 1, 2010
you MUST have your request for a copy of your
"certified San Diego marriage license" notarized.
