We can peform a wedding ceremony
for you at any time.
If you wish your wedding recognized
by the State and be “legally” married, you will need to
purchase a marriage license from a county office in California.

You may purchase a "San Diego marriage license"
in any county office in San Diego listed below

You can purchase your marriage license
in any California County office that sells licenses
and use it for a San Diego wedding or San Diego elopement.
(Confidential licenses must be used in the county they were purchased in)



You may be married on the same day
you purchase your license

If you purchase your license after the ceremony I have
performed for you, we can NOT back date it if you want to get together after the ceremony to make it official.

I will have to say a few words to
"re-marry" you on the date we actually sign the license.
It will be dated the day we actually sign the license.
I do charge 75.00 if we have to meet you
after the wedding to sign paperwork.

Requirements for a San Diego Marriage License

Each person must appear in person and
present one form of valid photo identification
with proof of age.
To expedite the identification process,
it is recommended that both the bride and groom
bring a certified copy of their birth certificate.

You must be 18 years of age.
Or go through Juvenile Court prior to obtaining a license.
Their number is 858.694.4601 ,
they can give you the specific requirements
for couples under the age of 18.


If either party has been granted a divorce within 90 days of applying for a new marriage license,
a copy of the final divorce decree must be
presented at the time of issue.

A blood test is NOT required.

Your marriage license is effective immediately and
valid for 90 days anywhere within the state of California.
You will need one adult witness for your ceremony.

A Certified copy of your
San Diego Marriage License
may be purchased
through the county clerks office
about two weeks AFTER the license is filed by us
The cost is $14.
EFFECTIVE JAN 1, 2010
you MUST have your request for a copy of your
"certified San Diego marriage license" notarized.
